It's Been A While... but I'm Still Thankful.

The title of this blog post is a big understatement. For the last several months, essentially since May, when we all began to realize that the COVID19 pandemic wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, I’ve found that I’ve had to put my focus on other things.

As a physician, I am considered an essential worker, and have had my fair share of working with people infected by COVID19. I have worked with asymptomatic but highly infectious patients, and I’ve dealt with incredibly sick and ventilated people, in multi-organ failure. I’ve ben overwhelmed, I’ve learned a lot. I’ve been concerned for my own health, my own risk.

I’m trying to re-prioritize this blog, and so I’ll set forth a task for myself, which is to post more, including ways I’ve coped, and note coped, things I’ve experienced, and lessons I’ve learned during this pandemic. I’ll also post some research about how my patient population has been affected (blood disorders and cancer), as well as research on the role of some natural remedies.

Still Thankful

I am still thankful for my career in healthcare,

Still thankful that I get to care for others,

Still thankful that I get to fight cancer,

Still thankful that I get to treat blood disorders,

Still thankful that I get to bring hope,

Still thankful that I get to advocate for others,

Still thankful to have woken up today,

Still thankful for my loved ones,

Still thankful for my challenges and the opportunities to overcome them.

Despite 2020, and because of 2020, I am still thankful.
